Summary: Goblins are a lot like ghouls and fairies. As in, they're almost completely interchangeable in terms of design across works of fantasy. But for the most part, they are associated with ugliness and vile acts. This one was hardly an exception.

History: It's the early 19th century, and some superstitious folk have tossed a deformed baby into a pyre. They didn't realize that the mother was a witch until it was far too late. Enraged by her neighbor's actions, she cursed the land so that every Halloween, her son would come back as a voracious goblin to snatch up their children and eat them. Even today, he's still around...

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The goblin's rampage is finally brought to an end when a person rams her car into it while a sacred spear is still attached. The beast is both smashed against a tree and impaled by the spear at the same time, causing it to release the spirits within and dissipate into bones.

Powers/Abilities: Can steal souls and take almost all damage.

Weakness: A special spear that puts in in great pain, but must be kept embedded in it for long enough to destroy it.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-He's tall by goblin standards, and his tendency to go after infants is horrifying. But that's about it. The rest is outdone by some really bad CGI that makes him.

Trivia: -The house in this film was a major set-piece in the "Twilight" franchise. No wonder the goblin hated it.

-The first true goblin in folklore was from 14th-century northwestern Europe. It is believed that the goblin's name is derived from gobelinus, a demon said to have once lurked in the Normandy countryside.
